Berlin Marathon

Sep 27, 2026

Location: Berlin, Germany

In Training

Training for Berlin feels different. It's not just another marathon—it's a statement. A year after running Marine Corps while quietly battling cancer, I return to the start line stronger, more grateful, and more grounded than ever. I'm running Berlin as part of the DetermiNation Team, raising $4,000 for the American Cancer Society. But this race is more than a cause. It's a personal vow—to keep moving forward, to run with purpose, and to stand in solidarity with those facing cancer today. Physically, I'm focused on building a smart, sustainable base. My training plan balances structured speedwork with long aerobic runs, placing emphasis on recovery and longevity. I'm learning to listen to my body more than ever—to strengthen it, not punish it. Every workout is a reminder of what I've come back from and what I still aspire to become. Mentally, I'm training with presence. I journal before long runs. I reflect on the people I'm running for. I visualize crossing the finish line in Berlin—not just for myself, but for those who can't. This isn't about chasing a personal best. It's about honoring the journey, embracing the struggle, and using every mile to lift others up. Berlin is a global stage. And I plan to arrive ready—heart open, legs steady, and purpose at my core.

Running in Alaska has been on my bucket list for years. The Anchorage Mayor's Marathon isn't just a race—it's a celebration of vast wilderness, raw nature, and quiet resilience. I expect beauty. I expect solitude. I expect challenge. This race will be less about time and more about presence—being fully immersed in the moment and the landscape. Myrtle Beach Marathon

Mar 7, 2026

Location: Myrtle Beach, SC

In Training

After the emotional high of Honolulu, I'm turning my focus back to the fundamentals. Myrtle Beach offers a flat, fast course—and a chance to test how far I've come, not just as a runner, but as a disciplined competitor. This time around, I'm prioritizing consistency: structured workouts, mindful recovery, and a calm, clear race-day mindset. I want to show myself that I can be both joyful and relentless—celebrating the process while still chasing peak performance. But what makes this race even more meaningful is who I'll be sharing it with. My sister and her husband will be running the half marathon, and my mom—courageously—will be taking on her very first half. My dad will be there supporting us at the finish line. I feel proud, grateful, and incredibly fortunate to have this experience on the horizon. It's not just a race—it's a celebration of family, movement, and the memories we'll carry long after the medals are hung.

Honolulu Marathon

Dec 14, 2025

Location: Honolulu, HI

My Takeaway

Coming off a PR just months earlier, I arrived in Honolulu ready to soak in paradise—not just for the race, but for the experience. This was more than a marathon; it was a brotherhood milestone. I was running alongside a close friend for his first-ever marathon, and together we embraced every moment of this Hawaiian adventure—from luaus and Jurassic Park jeep rides to Pearl Harbor and the soul of the islands. Race day, however, brought chaos. Torrential rain drenched the morning, and with tens of thousands of runners, just reaching the start line felt like an obstacle course. We jogged to the line, then waited nearly an hour in the flood of humanity before finally beginning. But the skies eventually cleared, and what followed was magic. The course opened up to ocean views, locals danced and played music on the sidelines, and the energy of the island pulsed through every step. I finished early and waited with anticipation as my friend approached the final stretch. Cheering him across that finish line was a deeply emotional moment—one that reminded me of why I started running in the first place: to build something deeper with the people I care about. This wasn't about time. It was about presence, purpose, and sharing the journey.

Steamtown Marathon

Oct 12, 2025

Location: Scranton, PA

My Takeaway

I arrived at Steamtown locked in—focused, rested, and hungry. I had prepared not just with training, but with gratitude. Running a marathon is a privilege—physically, mentally, financially—and I wasn't about to take a single stride for granted. I knew this was my best shot at a PR and Boston qualifier, and I came ready. The first 18 miles felt effortless. I had learned from past races how to fuel quickly, swallowing gels without drying out my mouth—but this time, that efficiency came at a cost: stomach pain from swallowed air. It hit hard around mile 20, but I pushed through. By mile 24, another challenge arrived: pain like I'd never felt before, the kind that drills into your bones when you're holding a speed you've never sustained this long. I dug deep, channeling the strength of my family, the memory of my late grandmother, and every mile that had led me to this point. I crossed the finish in 2:53:58—Boston-bound, with margin. But more than that, I crossed with a heart full of gratitude, pride, and the unshakable belief that this is just the beginning.

Inca Trail Marathon

Sep 1, 2025

Location: Cusco, Peru

My Takeaway

Running the Inca Trail Marathon was more than just a race. It was a week of solitude and connection, of internal stillness and external awe. Traveling alone to Peru, I stepped into the unknown—no familiar faces, no comfort zone, just a group of strangers from around the world united by a shared love for running, adventure, and the pursuit of something deeper. They quickly became more than just fellow travelers; they became friends, bonded not by background but by spirit. Every step through the Andes felt sacred. The terrain was relentless—climbing, descending, gasping for air—but the surrounding majesty made the struggle feel purposeful. There's something surreal about standing among ancient ruins, knowing that your breathless presence there is not a fluke, but a choice. I wasn't just chasing a finish line—I was honoring a calling to live intentionally. This marathon wasn't just about endurance. It was about listening—to the silence of the mountains, to the pulse of history under my feet, and to the quiet truths that rise to the surface when you're far from everything familiar. I left Peru with a lighter heart, a deeper respect for the world, and a renewed commitment to live boldly and walk (or run) with purpose.

Kentucky Derby Marathon

Apr 26, 2025

Location: Louisville, KY

My Takeaway

Kentucky was joy in motion. I traveled with both parents to experience the Derby and run the race—and everything clicked. I stayed with the 3:30 pacer until mile 21, then surged ahead with purpose. The fire I felt in Philly and Duluth returned, pushing me to finish in 3:21. This race reminded me that the fire still burns—and I'm not done chasing what's possible.

Austin Texas Marathon

Feb 16, 2025

Location: Austin, TX

My Takeaway

Four months post-op, I returned to the start line. This time in Austin, with my mom by my side for the trip. The air was cold, the race unhurried, and my body finally healing. I didn't care about time—I just wanted to run steady, feel good, and enjoy the moment. And I did. It was one of the most peaceful marathons I've ever run. The joy was in the motion, the city, the spectators, and the company. I crossed the line not with urgency, but with gratitude.

Marine Corps Marathon

Oct 27, 2024

Location: Washington, DC

My Takeaway

Then came the test. Just weeks before the Marine Corps Marathon, I was told I needed surgery. I delayed it—just long enough to run. I wasn't in peak form. I had gained weight, was depleted, and the course had no solid fuel—only gels. By mile 15, I was empty. I walked much of the second half, battling not just fatigue, but fear, doubt, and pain. But I didn't stop. I leaned on my values, my training, and my faith. I crossed the finish line slower than ever, but more proud than I had ever been. Because this race wasn't about speed—it was about heart.

Grandmas Marathon

Jun 22, 2024

Location: Duluth, MN

My Takeaway

I had to fight just to get in—three devices, no sleep, a late-night refresh frenzy. But Grandma's lived up to the hype. Cool weather, a flat course, and the hunger to tie my PR fueled every step. At mile 22, a pothole nearly took me out—but I held on. Cheered by strangers, fueled by watermelon, and fired by purpose, I crossed the line in 2:58 once again. It wasn't just a strong race. It was a quiet declaration: Boston is still within reach.

Tobacco Trail Marathon

Mar 17, 2024

Location: Cary, NC

My Takeaway

From ego back to essence—this race was about family. My sister's first marathon. Her hometown. Our parents at the finish. The out-and-back course gave us a chance to pass each other mid-race, offering high-fives and encouragement that spoke louder than words. There was no PR pressure. Just presence. And in that simplicity, I rediscovered the joy of running not for time, but for togetherness.

Life Time Miami Marathon

Jan 28, 2024

Location: Miami, FL

My Takeaway

From a high came the humbling. Miami was more vacation than competition—a warm escape with a friend. After Philly, I let my guard down. I showed up tired, under-rested, and underestimated the heat. The first 18 miles were a struggle, the last 8 a battle. I finished in 3:49—my slowest time yet—but with a renewed respect for the distance. Marathons don't care who you are or what you've done. They demand your full attention. And if you forget that, they will remind you.

Philadelphia Marathon

Nov 19, 2023

Location: Philadelphia, PA

My Takeaway

And more I gave. Philly was home. My home. I studied the course, set the map as my phone background, memorized the turns, visualized every hardship before it happened. I was locked in. A 4 AM shakeout run, dialed-in nutrition, and razor-sharp focus launched me into my most disciplined race yet. I shattered the 3-hour barrier with a 2:58 finish, and paradoxically, my body felt the best it ever had. This race was proof that preparation pays off. That greatness isn't accidental—it's earned.

Missoula Marathon

Jun 25, 2023

Location: Missoula, MT

My Takeaway

Missoula was more than a race—it was a rite of passage. My first solo trip, split between the untamed wilderness of Yellowstone and the peaceful town of Missoula. I camped alone. Ate alone. Reflected in silence. And somewhere between the trees and the trail, I found stillness within myself. Race day came, and when the 3:30 pacer dropped off at mile 20, I didn't panic—I pressed forward. I accelerated in the final miles, running negative splits and crossing the line at 3:26. A chill ran down my spine. I had proven that I could lead myself. And I was ready for more.

Napa Valley Marathon

Mar 5, 2023

Location: Napa, CA

My Takeaway

From emotional weight to emotional warmth—Napa was a gift. My sister, her husband, and I ran side by side for the first time, her in the half, me in the full, while our parents cheered us on. Between the vineyards, the family meals, and the quiet serenity of wine country, I remembered why I started running in the first place: to bring people together. I finished in 3:30 on the dot, but time took a back seat to joy. The real reward was sharing this journey with people I love.

Niagara Falls Marathon

Oct 23, 2022

Location: Niagara Falls, ON, Canada

My Takeaway

Niagara was picture-perfect—on the surface. My first trip to Canada, a scenic course beside one of the world's greatest natural wonders, and a week spent with my mom. But beneath the calm ran grief—a recent loss that weighed heavily on my mind. I started strong, but as the miles unfolded, so did my emotions. I learned that no matter how strong your body is, when your heart and mind are out of sync, your performance suffers. This race taught me that emotional endurance is just as vital as physical training—and sometimes the hardest miles are the ones no one can see.

Flying Pig Marathon

May 1, 2022

Location: Cincinnati, OH

My Takeaway

By the time I reached Cincinnati, I carried the posture of a veteran: confident, seasoned, and maybe a little too comfortable. Walking through the Bengals stadium tunnel to start the race, I felt like I was suiting up under Friday night lights again. But Cincinnati's infamous hills had other plans. Life, too, had grown steeper—I was juggling a new job, an MBA program, and less-than-ideal training. Still, I finished. 3:45 on the clock, but miles richer in humility. This race taught me that performance doesn't always measure growth. Sometimes just showing up—and finishing—is the greater victory.

Mesa Marathon

Feb 12, 2022

Location: Mesa, AZ

My Takeaway

After Coastal Delaware, I craved more than redemption—I craved evolution. Mesa became the proving ground. I trained with greater intention: longer runs, smarter tapering, better fueling, and—for the first time—music in my ears and a friend by my side. But the most transformative element wasn't physical—it was internal. I learned to read my own body like a map, using heart rate instead of ego to set my pace. At 170 bpm, I found a rhythm that felt sustainable, powerful, and true. When I crossed the finish line at 3:34—without stopping once—I wasn't just a stronger runner. I was a wiser one.

Coastal Delaware Running Festival

Nov 14, 2021

Location: Rehoboth Beach, DE

My Takeaway

The Coastal Delaware Running Festival was my first full marathon—a bold leap into the unknown after only one half under my belt. I wasn't as prepared as I should've been, forgetting my AirPods and underestimating just how much a full 26.2 would demand. The early miles felt peaceful, almost meditative, carried by the ocean breeze and race-day adrenaline. But at mile 21, everything changed—I hit the wall, and my body begged me to stop. That's when a mother and her young daughter locked eyes with me and cheered like they knew my struggle. It was such a small, unexpected act of kindness, but it stayed with me. In that moment, I learned that being a runner isn't just about grit or pace—it's about connection. We run alone, but we finish together, lifted by strangers who understand the pain and the purpose. I crossed that finish line not just physically changed, but spiritually moved—aware of my limits, and of the beautiful community that helps us all push beyond them.
